Petra Němcová (Czech pronunciation: [ˈɲɛmtsovaː])

Born on 24 June 1979 in Karviná, Czechoslovakia, now Czech Republic
Petra Němcová (Czech pronunciation: [ˈɲɛmtsovaː]) is a model, television host, author, and philanthropist. She is also the founder and president of Happy Hearts Fund. In December 2004, she was injured in Thailand by a tsunami resulting from the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake; her then-fiancé, photographer Simon Atlee, was killed in the tsunami.

"Mamma Mia," said every man in Milan that crossed Petra Nemcova's path.
While Petra's long legs and luscious
lips give you the urge to grab her and kiss her until Armageddon, her charm and smile strike another arrow in your already tortured hearts. Is it even legal to let women as sexy as her wander the streets?

Petra Nemcova ranked No. 41in AskMen.com's Top 99 Most Desirable Women of 2008 (as well as making the list in 2005, 2006 and 2007).

DISCOVERED: Petra was a 16-year-old student in Karvina, a coal mining town near the Beskydy Mountains, when she began modeling in Prague.

She was featured on the cover of the 2003 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue but appeared also in the editions of 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006. She has also modeled for Victoria's Secret, and for many other companies in the women's clothing market. In addition to working with world class photographers on her Sports Illustrated shoots, she was the object/subject of Joanne Gair's body painting work. On 3 June 2004, she was one of the telecast judges during the 53rd annual Miss Universe competition in Quito, Ecuador.Petra speaks czech, slobvak, polish, english and, she saids "bad french" and "body language".

The 2004 tsunami

During the Indian Ocean earthquake of 26 December 2004, Němcová was at the Khao Lak resort in Thailand with her main photographer and fiancé, Simon Atlee when the tsunami struck where they were staying. Initially, Atlee was presumed missing, but his body was found and identified on 3 March 2005, on the shores of Sumatra (near the epicenter of the earthquake that caused the Tsunami).

Atlee drowned, and Němcová suffered a broken pelvis and serious internal injuries, but she managed to hold onto the top of a palm tree, reportedly for eight hours, until she was rescued by Thai civilians and airlifted to an inland hospital nearby. Petra spent three weeks in a Thai hospital, and then flew home to the Czech Republic, where she spent an additional three weeks in the hospital. Atlee's body was not found until over two months after the tsunami. Němcová's first interview after her near-death experience was with Diane Sawyer on ABC's Primetime Live, on 9 March 2005. She has also spoken of her experiences on the Larry King Live program on CNN.

Happy Hearts Fund

In 2005, Němcová started The Happy Hearts Fund, a charitable organization and campaign formed after her survival and recovery from the Tsunami of 2004. It aims to advocate and provide for disadvantaged youngsters who have had to endure hardship and who are not receiving the essential and sustainable help they need for healthy childhood development. It actively partners with charities, donors and foundations committed to providing immediate, tangible assistance for children.

In 2008 she visited Peru to help support the victims of the 2007 Peru earthquake

She arrived at the Un Conte De Noel Premiere at the Palais des Festivals during the 61st International Cannes Film Festival on May 16 , 2008 in Cannes, France.

Glamour magazine awarded Němcová a "Survivor Award" in 2005 for the way she picked up her life following her tsunami ordeal; her comeback being complete with her appearance in the 2006 Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. She also appeared in the 2007 British FHM calendar as Miss May. She is now the host of TLC's A Model Life.

She wrote Love Always, Petra (ISBN 0446579130) published December 2005, which tells of her early life under Communist rule in Czechoslovakia, her entrance into the field of fashion and modeling, and her breakthrough into Sports Illustrated, which was her springboard to becoming a supermodel. She also tells of her life with Simon Atlee and how they fell in love and became engaged to marry.

Nemcova has also moved on romantically, briefly dating British singer James Blunt in 2006.

On 7 July 2007 she was a presenter at the American leg of Live Earth and appeared in the music video 'Misfit' by American indie group Elefant. She is currently working with HP computers to produce a multi-million dollar TV and web campaign.

In July 2007, Němcová became a vegan after learning about the planet's rapidly depleting fish stocks. The Czech Republic-born model gave up meat and dairy in February of that year.

Also in July 2007, Němcová partnered with New York City power broker Ron Schnackenberg to form a luxury boutique real estate firm Aglow Properties, which specializes in representing high net-worth/high profile clients in a very discreet manor. Aglow Properties has been linked with several high priced New York City apartment transactions.

On 12 November 2007 Nemcova visited Haiti alongside Haitian-born musician Wyclef Jean as part of a charity-sponsored event. The inauguration of a computer lab and an eatery in the slums of Port-au-Prince were funded and sponsored by Jean's Yéle Haïti foundation and Nemcova's Happy Hearts Fund.

Němcová is signed to Chic Management in Sydney, Australia. Recently she traveled in Mykonos island to attend a party in honor of De Grisogono jewels and she also did a fashion shooting for the Greek edition of Hello! magazine. Nemcova is also signed to Next Models Management.

Quotes

"I love to dance. I can dance for, like, four or five hours nonstop without even drinking water. It's a beautiful, beautiful thing."

“There are lots of things which I would love to tell him, but in some way, I also feel that I lost the person closest to me. And I got a second chance to live. So in a way I feel that I live for both of us... and I will do my best.”

"Learn from the past, look to the future, but live in the present. "

"My secret passion is motorbikes. I want a Kawasaki Ninja."

"I think all women want to feel sexy and confident yet comfortable at the same time in what they wear. "

"I can't find Simon," the 25-year-old Nemcova told the Daily News. "It was horrible. I'm very lucky, but I can't find Simon."

"I was so broken, I couldn't walk," Nemcova told the newspaper. "There were so many people with horrible injuries, with blood everywhere. It was like a war movie.

"There might be pieces of bone stuck to my organs."

“It was so powerful I couldn't get up. I couldn't get out of it,”

“People and kids were screaming all over the place, 'Help, help.' And after a few minutes, you didn't hear the kids anymore.”

"Some people, from the same injuries it takes them two years. And I've healed in a little bit over three months. I was in Palm Springs and I was just thinking, what is the purpose in this, what is the meaning? It was really difficult."

Heidi Klum (pronounced [ˈklʊm]

Born on June 1, 1973
Heidi Klum (pronounced [ˈklʊm] is a German model, actress, television host, business woman, fashion designer, television producer, artist, and occasional singer. She is married to singer Seal.
Klum was the Emmy Award-nominated hostess of Project Runway and Germany's Next Topmodel, and is a Victoria's Secret Angel.

Heidi Klum definitely raises the temperature in any room she enters. Though her perky personality adds a quirk to her sex appeal, it doesn't stop her from being one of the sexiest women in the world.

Just watching her confident strut and her magnificent hips sway as she walks down the runway in Victoria's Secret lingerie elicits X-rated thoughts. Although Heidi Klum is a runway model, she doesn't have a twiggy, anorexic figure; rather, she has voluptuous curves and lines in all the right places. Heidi Klum's piercing hazel eyes are all business when she's on the runway, but when she's working the talk-show circuit, they become warm and inviting.

heidi klum is model '92
Heidi Klum was discovered when she participated in the Model '92 competition, organized by Petra magazine and a New York modeling agency. The competition received 250,000 resumes from girls wishing to participate in the grueling selection process. As the winner of the Model '92 competition, Heidi appeared in the Petrol catalog and was offered a three-year modeling contract with Metropolitan worth $300,000. However, she passed on the offer in order to finish high school.

Klum has been on the cover of fashion magazines, including Vogue, ELLE and Marie Claire. She became widely known after appearing on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and for her work with Victoria's Secret as an "Angel." In addition to working with world class photographers on her Sports Illustrated shoots, she was the object/subject of Joanne Gair body painting works in several editions from 1999 to 2006. She wrote the foreword to Gair's most recent book of body paint work. She has been a spokesmodel for McDonald's, Braun, H & M, and Liz Claiborne, among others. She is currently a celebrity spokesmodel for Jordache and Volkswagen. In addition to modeling, she has appeared in several TV shows, including Spin City, Sex and the City, Yes, Dear, and How I Met Your Mother. She had a role as an ill-tempered hair model in the movie Blow Dry, played a giantess in the movie Ella Enchanted and was cast as Ursula Andress in The Life and Death of Peter Sellers. She had cameo appearances in The Devil Wears Prada and Perfect Stranger.

In December 2004, she became the host, judge and executive producer of the reality show Project Runway on the U.S. cable television channel Bravo, in which fashion designers compete for the opportunity to show their line at New York Fashion Week and receive money to launch their own fashion line. She received an Emmy Awards nomination for the show for each of the first four seasons. In 2008, Klum and Project Runway received a Peabody Award, the first time a reality show had won the award. Klum herself was nominated for an Emmy in 2008 for "outstanding host of a reality or reality-competition show" for Project Runway, the first year that category was recognized by the Emmys.

In July 2007, having earned an estimated $8 million in the previous 12 months, Klum was named by Forbes as third on the list of the World's 15 Top-Earning Supermodels. In 2008, Forbes estimated her income to be $14 million, which put Klum in second place on the list, surpassing Kate Moss ($7.5 million). Klum is signed to IMG Models in New York City.

Designing and perfume
Klum has designed her own clothing lines (including one for infants) that were featured in the German mail-order catalog "Otto." She also has designed shoes for Birkenstock, jewellery for Mouawad, a clothing line for Jordache, and swimsuits – featured in the 2002 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue – that, for a limited time, were available for sale through her personal website. She was one of the designers of the Victoria's Secret lingerie line "The Body", which was named after the nickname she received following her first Victoria's Secret Fashion Show appearance. Her Mouawad jewelry collection debuted on the cable shopping network QVC on September 14, 2006, and 14 of the 16 styles sold out after only 36 minutes. A second line of her jewelry collection debuted on QVC on April 14, 2007, with similar success. Klum's clothing line for Jordache launched on April 30, 2008.

Klum has produced two fragrances, called "Heidi Klum" and "Me". She has also designed makeup for Victoria's Secret as part of their "Very Sexy Makeup Collection", titled "The Heidi Klum Collection". The first run debuted in Fall 2007. A second run was released in Fall 2008.

For the 2008 US Open, Klum designed a screen print t-shirt which was sold at the US Open shop. It featured child-like butterfly pictures and retailed at $40. Proceeds from the design are set to go to Unisphere, a non-profit organization which maintains Flushing Meadows-Corona park, home to the US Open.

heidi klum is named no. 25 in 2008 top 99
In July 2007, having earned an estimated $8 million in the last year, Heidi Klum was named by Forbes as third on the list of the World's 15 Top-Earning Supermodels. And it came as no surprise when readers voted to add Heidi Klum to AskMen.com's 2008 Top 99 Most Desirable Women list.

Heidi Klum also appeared in the February 2008 edition of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

In 2009, Heidi Klum is said to be hosting a new show called Models of the Runway.

Heidi Klum Quotes
"The main thing is healthy eating, exercise, which I do for special events, like if it`s Sports Illustrated, or the swim suit catalogue for Victoria`s Secret, or my own calendar that I did for the year 2000."

"I represent more the healthy, happy, curvy, strong woman. And that sounds much healthier to me than being 80 pounds and skinny as a bean. "

"I have to say that there are a lot of models that I work with that a
re very good friends of mine. And that it`s sometimes like a little family. "

"I first met Seal in a hotel lobby in and he had just been to the gym. He was in bicycle shorts and I pretty much saw everything. The whole package. I was like, 'Wow'!"

"You should spend your money on some nice lingerie.
Big wool cotton pants, that just doesn't work. You have to feel sexy."

"I`m very lucky. As I get a lot of role because of my name as a model and I probably wouldn`t have got them without it. You have to make the best of your situation. "

"You have to work out to be sexy. People always ask me how I stay in shape and how do I do it, and what really makes me do it is because I have a hot man waiting at home for me, so I don't want to be a slouch bag; I have to keep up appearances."

"Sometimes I lie in bed and I'm like, 'Oh my god, there's
Seal lying next to me. What's he doing there?' I get a smile on my face immediately. Our honeymoon period is definitely not over...I want to look good for him, so I kind of stepped it up a bit."

In 2008, Klum became a naturalized American citizen.
In 2008, Klum dressed as the Hindu goddess Kālī for a Halloween party.] She was not aware that goddess Kali killed only the unjust, and not just anyone. In Hindu religion, goddess Kali is considered one of the first feminist goddess ideas as she fought over injustices done to women. Klum's act upset many Hindus all around the world, and as a result, many Hindus (and some non-Hindus) all around the world vowed not to be a part of any product endorsed by Klum.
